In today's episode I interview a listener who went through a difficult breakup and employed a variety of traditional tools to heal from a breakup and got to a place of feeling very stuck in the process. In today's listener episode I'm talking with Hal about not one but two breakups that happened in the span of 2 years. Hal was married to his ex husband after 13 years and he was able to walk away from that marriage after infidelity and then after leaving his marriage he had a difficult time staying single and got into another relationship very shortly after. That relationship became intense quickly and ended after a year. So in this episode we talk about going through multiple breakups in a short period of time and the added obstacles that brings and we talk about Hal's journey to learning how to be happy on his own.

#207 Listener Episode: Leaving a Partner Due to Mental Health Challenges
In today's listener episode I have Jana from Slovakia on the show and she tells the story of her relationship which was a great relationship for the first 7 months and then her partner was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder which ultimately led to the demise of the relationship. We talk about what it's like to ultimately have to leave a relationship due to a partners mental health struggles, the guilt that comes along with that, the importance of personal safety in a relationship, and dealing with the fallout of leaving. This is a really important story and one that I know a lot of people deal with so I'm grateful to Jana for coming on and sharing.
#206 Hindsight In Your Breakup
In today's episode I talk all about hindsight when it comes to your breakup. I talk a lot about how hindsight can be used as a way to beat yourself up, how it shouldn't be used, and why it can make the breakup feel harder on you than it should. I also talk about how hindsight can be used effectively when it comes to learning from your breakup (after an appropriate amount of time) and how it can be utilized when thinking about dating again.

Kristin was married for 17 years and has two older children with her ex, and we talk about the internal journey she had to go through to be able to not only walk away from her ex husband but also totally break the hearts of her children and how she handled that journey. We talk about becoming unrecognizable in a relationship, how to gain your identity back, how to deal with children when going through a divorce and so much more.
